Network technology where operating systems, hypervisors and network adapter hardware work in conjunction to provide high-throughput low-latency data communications. RDMA is generally implemented in storage applications where access performance is critical. RDMA reduces overhead and latency by bypassing many of the network and operating system facilities allowing the Virtual Machines to directly access network storage resources.
