Nano Server is a minimal sized version of Windows Server Core that is headless and is reduced to about 480 MB. It does not include any GUI interface. It does have local logon support, and must be managed via the Windows Management Instrumentation, PowerShell and Remote Server Management Tools.

Windows Nano Server can be used to run both as VM operating systems and Server Hosts and all services including as Storage Spaces, Software Defined Networking and Hyper-V.
